Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: "Quick Stuff to Sew"

This past year I have been buying up small hardcover notebooks. I will be making quilted covers for them, designed specifically for each recipient, to give this Christmas.

Re: 'Project Accessory' Begins Casting Soon

I do not watch Project Runnway due to all the drama.
If they would show just the process and final results, I probably would, but then it wouldn't make for good TV, would it?

Re: What will you be sewing this summer?

I will be sewing for my grandbaby. Next to Jesus, she owns my heart. I have picked up an 18" doll and matching patterns for the doll and my grandbaby and I will be making the matching outfits. I said I would NEVER make another doll wardrobe, but for her, the moon is the limit.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Threads Sewing Guide"

Not only do I need this book for myself, but it will help when I teach the kids.

I just got my 25 years of Threads and the More Fabric Savvy book and I can't wait to see what I can learn.

Re: Lined Wool Dress With Curved Seams

All those curves!!! You have a goof eye for detail and wonderful sewmanship.

Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: "Designer Techniques"

I wouldn't mind winning this. I could use the help. I have recently been asked by a local junior high school to help with costumes, PLUS I have a brand new grandbaby I want to create for.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE - Threads.

Re: Organza beaded "feather" edge

When cleaning, don't the beads come off? There doesn't seem to be anything to keep them on the trim.
It would have to be a real special garment to do this, like maybe a gown for a cruise!

Re: What is the strangest project you have ever sewn?

A friend asked if I could fix the hood for her horse.
Of course I did, I could not refuse, but it was the strangest thing I ever did.

Re: Sewing In a Zipper

I too would like to know about zippers and linings. I have always had a difficult time with this.

TO Lorraine, you have to let the fusible interfacing cool before sewing. THis should help a lot.

Re: Decorative pockets or bound buttonholes

Thanks for this. THis has always driven me up a wall. I could never get it to look right.

Re: Who is your favorite Threads author?

Sorry, can't choose just one. EAch one has their own tips and tricks that I love.

Re: Mystery Sewing Machine Attachment

It is definately a bias binding attachment.
I use a Bernina and it is very close to the one I use. It is only missing the special foot and the screws to attach it to the sewing bed.

Thanks for the opportunity to help.

Love your tips and hints.

Re: What's your dream sewing project?

To finish all my UFO's and the ideas in my head.

Re: What's your favorite article from Threads magazine over the past 25 years?

I haven't been a subscriber for very long, only 3 years, but it was a difficult decision. I love them all. How about the one about fitting a pair of pants well.

Re: Circular Ribbon Flower Redux

This is so fabulous! THere are a lot of applications for this. I agree with sew4mary that it is more modern than traditional, but what a great idea.

Thank you for all you do. You are terrific!

Re: Machine Quilt a Supple and Stylish Garment, Part II

Thank you for the wonderful instructions on the Hong Kong seaming. It makes for a beautiful piece.
I too would like to know if you have to make allowances of extra fabric because the piece is quilted.

Re: Shell Hem Edge

I'm thinking (look out) this will be the extra special personal touch to my grandbaby's dedication gown.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
