posted: 5:09 pm on February 14thI would seal them. My choices would be something like Shoe Goo (shoe dept at Wal Mart) or a two-part epoxy like JB Weld (auto parts store or Wal Mart). I have not tried either of these but I suspect they would work. I'd try the JB Weld first.
