September is my month to get inspired. Our state fair runs for 17 days during September. I compete in the Open Class Sewing and usually do quite well. I get so inspired by seeing the other exhibitors' entries. I also run the 4-H Fashion Revue competition held at the State Fair. Seeing what these kids can sew always amazes and inspires me. I use Threads in my 4-H club's sewing studio.
I like to sew dresses/jackets/tops with princess seam detailing, because it is easy to fit to my curves.
I have a spring skirt/jacket I'm working on right now. I also need to sew a formal by June for an event. Helping my 4-H kids finish up their sewing projects before we stop for the summer.
This would be a great education tool for my 4-H club's sewing room!
Would be awesome to win Kenneth King's DVD! I teach sewing to 4-H kids. As they grow, they have to learn how to fit their ever-changing bodies. Sometimes, this can be quite a challenge.
Trying to figure out who done it :-)
PANTS!!! Especially the crotch/tummy area!
Another new series for me to start reading!
Can hardly wait for the Sewing and Stitchery Expo, March 1-4th. I've been to every one except the first one. Love it!!!
My 4-H kids would love to use that book!
Would be an awesome book to have for my 4-H kids! I teach sewing to about 15 4-H kids. They are an amazing bunch of talented kids.
The Puyallup Sewing & Stitchery Expo is the most fabulous, creativity-inspiring event! My Mom & I have been attending for over 25 years. It is advertised in some sewing magazines & vendor websites. But if you want the latest info, subscribe to their free e-newsletter. Just go to www.sewexpo.com to sign up. You can also fan them on Facebook - Sewing and Stitchery Expo. And, you can also join the Sew Expo fans Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PuyallupSewExpo/ Next year's Sewing Expo will be March 1-4, 2012. Seminar registration will be the beginning of January 2012.
Sew Expo Junkie
My spring projects - would like to finish my block-of-the-month quilt from last year. Also, my friend & I are going to redesign a simple sheath dress pattern like we saw in a sewing magazine.
Looks like some fun projects that I could utilize in my 4-H club.
