Re: The Winner of the Threads Ultimate Sewing Challenge sponsored by BERNINA is...

Thank you to Threads and Bernina for sponsoring this challenge! I was honored to be selected as one of the finalists, and am beyond thrilled to find out that I am the winner!

And I would like to give a shout out to all of the fantastic entries – I hope I inspired you half as much as you all inspire me.

My sewing machine will be thrilled to hear that she is going to get a well-deserved break/vacation/retirement – I am not sure how you measure the “age” of a machine, but I would hazard a guess that if she was an automobile, there would be at least 150,000 miles on the odometer, perhaps more . . .

Thanks again, especially to everyone who voted!

P.S. “LuvThreadsMagazine,” you are too funny!

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Couture Sewing Techniques" by Claire B. Shaeffer

Ooh, what a fabulous book to add to the library!

Re: Book Giveaway: "Draping Basics" by Sally M. Di MarcoDeadline March 30

Draping is the one sewing technique that continues to intimidate me, so much so that I have never tried it. However, the potential creative possibilities continue to taunt me . . . one of these days I will take on the challenge.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Horrockses Fashions: Off-the-Peg Style in the '40s and '50s"

What a fabulous book! The 40s and 50s are two of my favorite fashion decades, although the 40s are in the top spot these days simply because I don't have enough closet space for too many more full skirts and petticoats!

Re: Giveaway: Simplicity Rotary Cutting Machine
