Re: Creating a Back Neck Facing for a Garment
This is a good method but how this facing intersects with the front neck treatment and shoulder is also very important . I use this method when I bind the front neck and then I add the facing tothe separate back bodice piece. I then turn the facing over the shoulder seam and front neck binding so that when all is turned out the right way there is NO shoulder seam visible at the binding facing intersection. This is how it is done in better ready to wear T shirts. It is useful with both woven and knit fabrics.

Re: Staying a Curve with Crossgrain Muslin
Thankyou for that Kenneth . I have problems with waistbands on wool crepe pencil skirts they seem to grow over time even when I use cotton twill tape and intercacing . These are faced skirts rather than ones with waist bands . Do you have any suggestions ?? i really get very frustrated when this happens . Thanks M

I would treat them as 2 seperate garments which are joined at the top .The boning would be attached to the under layers only . Susan Khalje has her book out now on a CD and I think I will get that as I have heard that it is he best reference around for wedding dresses etc. YOu are a brave woman!!

Your story of the tule debacle reminds of one I had with sawdust!! I was supposed to order 2 cubic yards of it but ended up ordering 20 !!! We ended up with a MOUNTAIN in our back yard which my poor dear Husband had to move by himself as I had arranged to go away for the weekend.!! We had amazing garden soil after about 3 years though!

Hello All, I have owned this book for some time and was fortunate enough to see the exhibition in Paris. It was marvelous . I am very impressed with all you folk who have made up some of these patterns I would love to, BUT please can someone tell me about the scale used on these pattern in the book . I am probably missing something very simple here but how can I actually make these patterns into something like even 1/2 scale without a grid or a reference ?? I would really appreciate some info on this as I cant wait to to have a go myself. Thanks Marianne
