I have been sewing for the public for about 15 years out of my home in my spare time. I have dabbled in crosstitch, embrodery, beading quilting and stainglass as well as teaching sewing lessons. I hope to craft and sew as long as the good Lord allows my eyes to see and fingers to work a needle.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Draping Basics" by Sally M. Di MarcoDeadline March 30

I have been sewing for decades but have no training as a designer or in draping, but about a year ago I was asked to make a prom dress from a photograph. It was a one shoulder design with pleats that were placed diagonally across the bodice which was then attached to the skirt which had pleats also. I used yards of muslin before I finally had a reasonable facsimile to make the silk dress. At the time I wished I had more extensive training and I am sure this book would have been a great tool for that project.

Re: How to make a Chrysanthemum flower

Thank you, this is a such beautiful idea and looks so easy. Wouldn't this work with strips of organza fabric in the measurements given. This could open up the color possiblities for the flowers.

Re: Why Wallpaper When You Can Use Fabric?

I have a wall in my dining room that has old wall paper that doesn't fit my decor that is now screaming for fabric covering. Thanks for the inspiration.

Re: Got Spots?

I have an ink stain on the inside front of a cantelope colored silk dress that I did some alteration on. The ink is blue and sparkled. I have not laundered it yet. What would be the best way to remove the ink stain if possible? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: My Daughters Wedding Dress and her Bridesmaid

Sue_Cooper all the dresses look beautiful. You had your hands full doing all that sewing and I am really impressed at all the machine embrodiery you did. I hope you are able to enjoy wearing your dress. The pink looked great on you.

Sincerely,
MissLou
