Lilac Spring Suit

This 100% polyester fabric made in Italy inspired the design.  Everything was prewashed so this garment can be handwashed.  I have added extra embellishments such as buttons behind the closing...

Re: Expert Chat with Louise Cutting has Begun

I have been trialing binding using the ripple free bias binding video. What would you use to bind silk chiffon??

I used self binding. I found that when cutting the bias strips they moved and I couldn't get the correct width all the way through the strips. Used a rotary cutter and large quilter's ruler to hold. Where the strips were the correct width I folded them but there was twisting and the fold wouldn't hold. In the end I used some matching woven single bias and handstitched on the wrong side.

Also what can you do when you can't use steam-a-seam due to not being able to wash the fabric?
Thank you Louise for your time.
Kind regards

Re: Book Giveaway: "Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing"

This book sounds as delicious as the designs. Cute as a kitten. Would there be any discussion on bias?

Re: Go against the Grain

This is a very encouraging article for a first time adventure. Can you give me advice on how to line.

Re: How to Sew a Thread Bar

Does this look or behave differently to doing a blanket stitch - haven't seen this version in any of the books I have. I would have to work right to left, being left handed otherwise it is unweildy. Very clear instructions.

Thank you
