I would have to say for me it is the shoulders which also affects my bust measurement considerably. I would love to be able to accurately fit myself properly without having to go through trying on the garment and taking it off. I still have not purchased a dress form - someday.

Hello Everyone - I was recently referred by (FB Profile: Sew Craftful), about designer/teacher (Susan Eilas) from one of her teaching videos on (You Tube) regarding draping, and I must say I was amazed!

From my perspective as a sewer the desire to create clothing that has durability, a creative edge, and becomes cost effective in the long run was derived mostly from necessity.

Throughout all my sewing projects I have always thought it would be nice to create my own patterns that would benefit my personal style and creativity, but somehow considered it to be somewhat out of my reach.
After viewing (Susan Eilas),videos I see that the possibilities are endless if given the proper tools and instruction along with a true desire.

Now there are many designers/teachers who may have videos or reading tutorials in the art of draping, and I think when it comes to such a topic each person perspective has to be observed/viewed and possible used to determine which style is best for you. You may even find yourself using instructions from many and compiling them all into one easy concept for you to use in the long run. But the whole point is to research and be comfortable with the instructions and to know which one(s) fits you.

I would be so, so ECSTATIC to receive this book "Fashion By Design" by Janice Greenberg Ellinwood. I feel her insights would open my world even more to terms of relaying image, concept and conditioning to designing apparel.

If I could describe the Threads pattern in 1 word, it would be WOW! I think Threads pattern desgin #1919 is FABULOUS. I truly love the detailing of the colar along with the princess seam jacket giving way to a beautiful fit.

This look brings a FRESH and STYLISH look to all in one full pop!

This is a definite for anyone wanting a classic, but stylish change for Spring 2012.

I believe the THREADS 2011 ARCHIVE DVD set is a MUST for any fashion sewer whether beginner or expert.

My list of summer sewing projects consist of the following:

- Redecorating/remaking the dining room and living room curtains. Still working on a color palette for the changes.
- Definitely some summer pieces, like the blouse pattern from B5464 - Butterick, Vogue dress pattern V1191 - by Michael Kors, along with a couple of patterns from McCalls - M3219 - curtains, and a adorable summer dress M6346.
- A couple of cooking aprons. Still looking for a pattern....
- A business suit. You never know when an opportunity may presents itself. Still looking for a pattern.....

I will definitely be busy. I can't wait. :)
