Re: Hemming a Pleated Skirt

Denise, I got the impression that this is not a kick pleat, but a skirt with pleats on either side of the center back.

I'm not exactly following how this helps, apart from using organza to hem to reduce the bulk at the hemline. I'll have to read it again when my brain is fresher (and there are fewer people around so I can read it out loud to myself without feeling foolish).

Re: Giveaway: Simplicity Rotary Cutting Machine

Nice nail polish! This would definitely make certain crafting activities easier. Not sure it helps much with my garment construction, unless I get into patchwork gypsy skirts (hey, it could happen!).

Re: Giveaway: Simplicity Bias Tape Maker

I'd probably use bias tape a lot more if I had one of these! :)

(Love this avatar pic of my baby and my dog both looking out the window!)

Re: Fluid Fabrics: A Challenge for the Pros

Mercury Rising looks great from the front, but I'm not as excited about the gathers/ruching on the back. I would have said a clean back would accentuate the gorgeous front better.

Oceans Green appeals to me, too, but I suspect it's at least as much the choice of colors as the design, and spiral pinwheel looks like a great dress for actually wearing somewhere (as much as I like mercury rising, it's far too fancy for anywhere I go. I agree with soxfan that it should be on the red carpet).
