I saw this exhibit yesterday. Amazing! the fabrics, trims, details... Oh my. Some of the tailoring was just exquisite. I just wanted to get right up on the platforms with the mannequins and lift an arm here, peak under a jacket there... go if you get the chance.

My memory of Fred is that of mentor and friend. Once when in Oakland, my partner and I stopped by her studio, and we walked to a little tapas place a couple of blocks away. Good food, wine and that warm autumn air made for the perfect day.
The sewing community has lost a quiet, graceful icon, while I, and many others have lost a lovely friend.
I will miss you Fred.

The pictures look fine to me. I use this technique for bound buttonholes / pockets and this seems fairly straight forward. As far as I can tell, the pictures are in order, and correctly oriented for right / wrong sides. This is one of those that you just have to sit down and try... it only takes a few minutes, and the results are wonderful!
