Re: Project Runway 9: "The Art of the Matter"
I'm hoping that one year, the producers will give the designers more time to create. I understand putting them under pressure to test their design skills. But, COME ON!! Give them 2-3 full days to complete a decent garment. You want them to be creative - give them the time! This one day nonsense is just that - nonsense.

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Couture Sewing Techniques" by Claire B. Shaeffer
Absolutely beautiful techniques! It would be stellar to have this book in my sewing library!

This would be such a lovely addition to my sewing library. I've always had a passion for information & techniques related to sewing! Since retiring, I've also begun teaching young people to sew. Having the best information is a key component in sharing my love of sewing with others. Thank you!

I love that you've found another use for items we see in the hardware/home improvement stores! I love finding sewing tools in that venue. It really confuses the staff there too. I can't wait to make one of each for my sewing studio!

What an amazing book to get the opportunity to add this to my library!

I've been to Puyallup one time. It is ABSOLUTELY the most fabulous sewing event ever. My ASG buddies talk about planning a trip out there, after I told them I'd been. We need to stop talking & just do it! My sister & I went and that made it even better. I would love to go every year. I think you could walk around for 3 days & never see the same thing twice. I always appreciate all the talent & vendors that make the trip out there for the benefit of the creative souls out here. You'll always find something in Puyallup that you'll not find anywhere else. It should be on everyone's bucket list! We have a very good show that comes annually to Atlanta but nothing matches Puyallup.

I have the dress form. I have the fabrics. I have the sewing ability. I have the desire. I have NO DIRECTION!!! To have such a wonderful guide to help me understand and USE that skill would just make for a STELLAR day!!

I'd love to know how long ago Judy Gordon purchased that wonderful island from Ikea. It is certainly something I am interested in! The storage is perfect - do we ever have enough? No. I have a very large sewing table with the original intent of more home dec sewing but w/economic downturn & that not as much in demand, it's time to make a revised plan! So, I'd like to dismantle the big table & replace it with something more manageable.

This adds a new dimension to my purse fettish! Rather than using a print as the embellishment, this will spark my creativity to add my own embroidery designs to create a one-of-a-kind creation by me! Love it!! Can't wait to let the creative juices begin flowing!

Our Sewing Guild will be talking about our sewing spaces next month. I've already forwarded the link from this article to our Neighborhood Group Leader. This is what I'd LOVE for my room to look like! I'm very fortunate to have a room that's dedicated to sewing but I have so much stacked, tucked, and crammed in here that I tend to lose focus. I daydream about what I want my space to look like. Louise's space gives me great ideas! I always enjoy her classes & booth at Expo in Atlanta each year. I enjoyed reading about her sewing experiences when she was growing up. Thank you for the article!

I totally agree! I am always amazed that Atlanta only has a couple of fashion fabric independents (that I know of) - Gail K & Discover Sewing (they are adding more fabric). Still love all the quilt stores & I shop them as well. There used to be a lot more but they've slowly gone away in a town this size. I dream of living in a town or state with more selections - NY, Chicago, Washington State, CA. Now, we do have Fabric.com HQ here but you can't go in & shop. I like to touch the stuff.
