I have sewed since I was young girl, and started making clothes for myself before I was 10. I currently sew for myself and do some upholstery projects and the like around my home. I will soon get to sew for a new grand-baby entering my life in 2010.

Re: Project Runway 9: "Finale - Part 2"
I thought Josh' collection was mostly ugly, and I cannot imagine wearing plastic clothes (no breathability and stiff!), and neoprene clothes have been done for years, so they are nothing new. I do not know what the judges saw in that collection. I liked Anya's collection, but it did not show range. I loved Viktor's prints, but I am so tired of sheer dresses over panties, like Gretchen's last year. I liked kim's collection for the most part, esp. the ivory pants and blouse.

I keep trying to find the money to buy this, so winning it would be truly awesome! It would help me easily research techniques and tips I need to sew well. It would be a real time saver in a busy woman's day!

It seems to me that panties have gotten smaller and bras larger and fancier. We have gone from beifs to bikinis to barely there thongs while bras now regularly come with padding, something that would have been shameful in my youth. Also pantyhose have gone from the latest and greatest invention to being out in fashion.

I plan to make Vogue's Ralph Rucci shirtdress an a fun sundress as well as some T-shirts.

Ralph Rucci or most of the designers that also do designs for the pattern companies would be great. I am curious how they adjust designs for the pattern companies. I am not a fan of Koos at all or a lot of what goes as "Artwear" though there are some pieces that are beautiful.

I am getting really interested in ribbon embroidery. I have done crewel work and cross stitch and, more recently, machine embroidery. I like doing shaded, realistic designs.

Love your jacket. I have this pattern but have not made it up yet. You have inspired me to get going on it soon!

I agree with ejcc. I have never hemstiched, but I would like to learn how. Simply telling me to do it is not helpful at all. How about a video showing the hemstich foot, the wing needle, and what the process of sewing with both of those items actually loos like. I know we are all at different levels, but how can I advance in skills if I do not get a through explanation?
