I've been interested in fashion since I was 10 years old. I received my first sewing machine at the age of 14 after taking a Home Economics class in High School. That was the extent of my education in sewing. I've gained a lot of knowledge by teaching myself through books, magazines and just plain trial and error. I really started to get serious about sewing after my daughter turned 3 and participated in a beauty pageant. I was shocked by the price of a simple pageant dress that I decided to make her dresses. My daughter wanted to dance like the other little girls and that is when I started making her dance costumes. That was the start of my sewing career. Since then, I've made many dance costumes for dance studios, Halloween costumes, pageant dresses, gowns for proms, weddings, etc. I also took an interest in embroidering after my son was in a bowling league. The shirts had to have their team name and their name on them. That is what got me interested in embroidering. I then realized how much fun it was to embroider. I started a very small sewing/embroidery business at home in 2005 but have taken a short break to help at the family restaurant. I sew as much as I can.

Re: Sally and Jack Halloween Costumes 2009

Thank you. I'll be posting her wedding gown soon. She didn't want just one! She had to have three. One for the ceremony, one for dinner and one for the party. I can't wait to share them.
