My mom taught my best friend and me to sew when we were Jrs. in high school, when we both made our prom dresses. I've been sewing ever since, for 3 daughters and now for grandchildren. I have taught my oldest granddaughter to sew when she was in elem. school. She is now a Jr. in high school and sews on her own. I have many interests, including gardening, reading, playing Bridge, Mah Jong, and bowling, and lunching and traveling with friends.

Re: How to Make Ribbon Trim

Can't wait to try this. The instructions are very clear.

Re: Giveaway: SewStylish Spring 2012 Fashion Sewing Guide

Stellar Machine Features would probably be the first article I'd read, but every single article in this issue is of interest to me. I'd love to have it.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Horrockses Fashions: Off-the-Peg Style in the '40s and '50s"

Thanks for the opportunity to win this book. I can't wait to sit down and browse through it. My Mom, an exquisite seamstress, sewed for me through the 40's and 50's, including dance recital costumes for my whole dancing school.
She taught me to sew in the late 50's, and I sewed for my 3 daughters and grandchildren, and now have taught my granddaughter to sew. I'm sure I'll recognize my Mom's outfits in the book!

Re: Retro Marilyn style

I'd love to enter your contests, but this is the second time I've tried and it won't accept my photos.

Re: Book Giveaway: Successful Serging

I've never used a serger (yet) and plan to buy one. It would certainly be a big help to have this book.
