Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Underwear Fashion in Detail"

Ihave been reproducing historical clothing for over 25 years. One of my favorite books to use as a reference is another V & A book, Fashion in Detail. I am a firm believer that to get the correct look on the outside, one needs to start with everything that is close to the skin. Corseting goes back hundreds of years and is once again becoming a fashionable thing for people to do. Having "in detail" books like this one helps me to get the best look for myself and my clients.

Re: The Bullfighter's Jacket

Kenneth, thank you for sharing this exquisit work of art and craftmanship with us. Some of the 19th century originals I have in my collection are embroidered with bullion, tassels, bead and such, but not to the extreme skill or heaviness your jacket seems to have. Do you have an age on the garment? Would love to see it in person.

Re: 1887 Silk Bat

Nice job. Liked the fact thatyou have made a period correct hoop to go under this confection. Did you make a headpiece to go with it? Jackie Wakeling; Past Reflections
