Re: Book Giveaway: Practical Guide to Patternmaking for Fashion Designers - Menswear

I have made some men's jackets and a suit, shirts for my husband, too. Lately I have been sewing for my grandsons, who are becoming young men. They have had me make costumes for the school history fair, called "A Night At The Waxed Museum". It has given me the opportunity to do something for them they will remember.

Re: Book Giveaway: The Art of the Handbag

The most incredible bag I've ever seen was in my SIL's collection. A hand tatted and beaded silk and lace drawstring evening bag from the 1920's. It had a beaded tassel on the bottom. Beyond fabulous!

Re: Huge Handbags Giveaway!

I'd like to sew a nice baby bag for my daughter. Something new and fresh!

Re: Enter to Win an Oliso Pro Smart Iron!

Pressing your seams while sewing a garment is absolutely imperative if you want a professional looking and not a "loving hands from home" sewing project. My tip is about saving time. I sew as many seams as I can before I press. I also press up hems on the garment on my FIRST trip to the ironing board.
My next sewing project is a silk charmouse blouse for my daughter. I tame this challenging fabric by pressing it using heavy spray starch on the wrong side of the fabric before I cut it out. It makes all the difference in the world!

HELLO! 68% of americans are overweight at least 20 lbs. Who does he think he will be selling clothing to? I think Ven acted like a spoiled, self-centered brat. If I was his model,I would have been way more vocal about his comments and I might have even walked out. I think the judges should have let him have it.
