I am a 75 year old women who was a very, very late starter when it came to sewing. It was something I always wanted to do but music really took any spare time I had while raising for 3 boys and quite a few foster children.
When it seemed to be the right time in my life to learn how to sew my husband decided that we should move to the country.
There were no classes and very few books. One day my husband wandered into shop which had used book. He walked in the door with him arms full of books. He was so excited and when I saw them so was I. It was a library of beautiful sewing books. I was overjoyed and got started. He was the one who got me interested in quilting by going into the same store when a delivery of brand new quilting books came in. The saleslady told me later that he just kept on picking up books because the price was so good. They were books that had been returned to the company and were the right price. It seems that evertime I really get going something comes up and I have to put sewing on hold. I'm not giving up and managed to get three classes in on Machine Embroidery, Digitized Quilting, Embroidery sorry the second class name leaves me. They were at the QU which was right up my alley because I didn't have to go to a class. I'm paranoid when it comes to classes. I love learning online.
My other interests are and my newest is Fabric Art,and machine embroidery, Other interests, reading, crocheting, knitting, hand crewel embroidery, and of course my music.
My husband and sons and daughter in law are great support and no matter what they love what I do. My husband thinks nothing of going into a local fabric store and buying me something. He came home with three baskets of fat quarters.
They worked in beautifully with the tablerunner I am making using Digitized Embroidery which I took at QU.

My First Design_ Sarah's Wallhanging
I had fun looking back at these pictures. Now, I have to tell the truth. I never did give it to Sarah. I thought it was just terrible and knew it could never be washed. I made another wallhanging for...
