Falling Leaves Patchwork Jacket
Please put my name in the hat for the rotary cutter giveaway. I'd love to win! I loved the way these fabrics looked while they was in a pile on the floor. So I decided to make a jacket...

Coffee N Cream Long Sleeve Men's Shirt

Re: Mark a Dart and Learn a No-Tie Finish
I was already clipping and pinning but I like the needle thread part. I will use this method from now on. Thanks

I was cheering for Shirin, I am soooooo disappointed. All the good designers are gone, they have voted them off. The only one I like now is Gordana. I agree with Kate W. I am bored with it now. I guess I will watch the Practice on ABC this Thursday night.

I think the runway show is too short also. Sometimes you don't get to see all of the dresses. I felt that the shirt dress was a timeless and beautiful piece. I wish they showed more of the other designers. And I would like to see more of the creative process. I would love to have one of those machines. I think that Epperson is a sleeper. They don't show him much, and when they show his designs they just skim over them. They also don't show much of his creative process. I think he might sneak up on them and win this. That is if it is not rigged and they already know who they want to win. And if they have already decided on who the winner is, the show is not as good as I thought.

I love my walking foot, I use it for almost everything I sew. I also love to use my open toe foot when I am doing machine applique or zigzag. Last month I purchased a ruffling foot, I have not created anything with it yet, but I have played around with it. I think once I get the hang of how it works and I use it in a project I sure it will be my next favorite foot.

"The one person in the whole competition who didn’t get to choose his genre was Epperson—they loved his work—why didn’t they choose him? With constantly revolving judges, I don’t think they have the opportunity to see the body of work the designers have presented. I think previous work should be considered when they look at each new entry. What do you think?" I was wondering the same thing! I love Epperson's designs, and I truly feel that he should have won this one. And I think that if Nina and Michael had been there he would have. I also felt bad for Ra'Mon. But I really think that if Ra'Mon had stuck with the jumpsuit and worked that, he would still be there. I could just see where he was trying to go with that jumpsuit, but when it did not come out the way he envisioned it, he panicked. I wish he would have stayed with it. I would have put a little tight skirt on top of it. And went all the way there with it. I love all these designers.
posted: 1:08 pm on September 25thRe: What provides your greatest sewing inspiration?
Sewing for me was my sanity when I was younger and married to my first husband and had 4 kids.
posted: 10:43 am on September 22ndAfter my divorce I sewed to support myself, even then I loved sewing, although I did not get much chance to just sew for fun so I collected fabrics and notions, and equipment.
Now I am remarried and sewing just what I want to sew.
Fabric is my inspiration, I love mixing fabrics with different textures and colors into one garment. I love seeing a garment blossom with bright colors and texture. Looking outside and seeing all the beautiful colors and designs that God has to offer is my biggest inspiration, bringing those color combinations into the sewing studio is always a challenge but it is so much fun to do.
I have such a large stash of fabrics and I am trying to use up as much as I can. But it is so hard to stay out of the fabric store. Every time I go to the fabric store, I find another piece of fabric that I can't live without.
Re: Project Runway 5th Episode - Make it Work
I liked the trench coat and I also liked Epperson's design. I actually liked all the designs. I think all these designers are good. They each have their own style and each style is unique. The one dress that I really, really, really didn't like was Ra Mon's maternity thing, that was so ugly and I was surprised that he did that because the rest of his designs were so nice. I love Epperson's designs, I would wear them.

Very nice. I used the same technique on a dress. I had so much fun doing it. This is really cute.
posted: 11:27 pm on September 19thRe: Needle Felted Swirly Jacket
I have also used that technique of layering the buttons to get the look I want. When I looked at the collar close up I can see the process you went through to put this jacket together. It is a work of art.

A beautiful jacket. I love the fabric. Sometimes it takes me a couple of years to use a piece of fabric. I have to make sure I have all the special items I need to complement it. You did a good job and how blessed you are to be able to really travel and find those wonderful fabrics. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
