I am old enough that they still had Home Economics (HomeEc) in high school. I had a teacher that was as hard nose as they come, and she taught me how to sew properly because if you didn't do it right, you ripped it out until you got it right. I will not make a garment that is not "perfect". God saw fit to give me a talant to sew like a pro, but he also sent me Miss Swan (known as Old Lady Swan in high school) who taught me how to do it right. I, of course, did not appreciate what she did for me at the time. Sure do now.

Re: What's Your Favorite Non-standard Sewing Machine Foot?

I have an old (30 years) computerized Singer machine, the one that loads the bobbin in the bed and I love that feature. The foot I love the best is the one that allows me to sew sideways - absolutely invaluable when sewing patches on clothing, and in tight spots. My machine also has a great buttonholer that I just set it in place and choose the type of button hole I want and let it do it's thing. Really great old machine. Probably won't ever get rid of it.
