Re: Project Runway 9: "Image is Everything"

It was nice to see Burt's effort at teamwork, even though there wasn't any need for a team. Baggy wrinkled pants and boring shirts are still just that, even when they are called 'custom made'. Think this was another boring contest. Burt's look seemed to suit the guy decently. The band seemed happy, no matter what they were wearing.
I really think PR picked contestants this time by personality, sensing some provocative potential. Didn't work. Hope they go back to basic training and skill and imagination proven before being chosen for the next season.

Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: "Quick Stuff to Sew"

I got my weekly diary for next year and am making a pattern for a deluxe cover with a place for a pen, 2 ribbons as bookmarks and five slots for holding business cards plus either fused initials on the front or a clear slot for a name or bs. card. This will be easily adjustable to larger or smaller diaries and will be a neat gift for the new year.

Re: Book Giveaway: Seventeenth-Century Women's Dress Patterns

just to see the pictures of these garments, close-ups and get sewing details would be great. Add to that a way to re-create 17 items is absolutely awesome. I would love to win a copy of this book.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Threads Sewing Guide"

the book sounds like the type of reference that would be of value daily in a person's sewing life.

Re: Giveaway: Teach Yourself to Sew Magazine and DVD bundle

I got friends together to focus on being positive and creative and having an actual creation in their hands. I called it the "Anti-Procrastination Group". We got those projects, unfinished, out of the back of the closet. I had 2 sewing machines and many supplies and other projects to choose from.
When people got stuck (where the item would again go into the closet) we all got laughter and solutions instead. No problem could be too small, that we couldn't make it smaller.
We all met in a therapy group, but this group brought us closer to life. It was wonderful to see how much joy each received with these little creations of their own making.

Re: Magazine Giveaway: "Quick Stuff to Sew"

I have always enjoyed the 'quick to make' times plus the 'try this' (that is now gone) that gave a smaller way to try a new clothing/accessory technique. They are challenging to match to the recipient and fun to make.

Re: Spot the Difference in our Classic Cover Game

It was fun to have a bit of a break yet still be open to any new sewing inspiration that might appear in the images.
