A teacher by training, I left the classroom to pursue a study of tailoring, dressmaking and design. After teaching adult classes for a few seasons at the technical institute where I had studied, I chose to open my own sewing school in my home. My sewing studio size was doubled, and with the help of my husband's carpentry skills, we were up and running within six weeks! I cater to children from ages six to seventeen, and in the eighteen years our sewing school has been operating, hundreds of youngsters have been introduced to the joy of sewing.
My personal passions include sewing and quilting, knitting, reading (I'm a member of a book club), camping and fishing, hiking for exercise, and spending time with my daughters and three grand children. My goal at retirement is to learn to digitize for machine embroidery. Life is good!

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Couture Sewing Techniques" by Claire B. Shaeffer

Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: "Designer Techniques"

Donna Karan is my favorite designer. Her styles are timeless, elegant, and oh, so classy. To own a Karan coat would be the ultimate fashion treat.

Re: Red Asian jacket

It must be a joy to wear this jacket - it would lift one's spirits, I'm sure. Isn't it fun to play with fabric and color? Great job.

Re: Great White Shirt

What a gorgeous shirt! Fine detail and skilled workmanship have yielded a garment that is still totally wearable.

Re: On the Cutting Edge

Very impressive cutwork - having done cutwork on linen and pima cotton myself, I recognize the high level of skill needed to execute this detail. It must be fun to wear this creatively styled outfit.
