Re: Enter to Win an Oliso Pro Smart Iron!

All my favorite pressing/ironing tips have already been offered several times here, but pressing as you sew cannot be stressed too much.

I have an ivory silk blouse to sew, but I've been putting it off until I can buy (win?!) a new iron that doesn't spit and leak. This Oliso would be wonderful for that, and so much easier on arthritic wrist and fingers. Thanks for this opportunity.

My tips are just basic, but important. First, stay away from cheap thread, and second, change your machine needle for each project. (Don't throw out any cheap thread, just use it for non-construction purposes, such as zigzagging yardage raw edges prior to washing to avoid excessive fraying.)

Re: Fabric Giveaway: Celebrating Grand Central Terminal's 100th year

I was born in New York City and lived there until age 4, when we moved across country to Seattle. There are photos of me taken near various landmarks. I would love a chance to go back!

Re: Win a One-Year Threads Insider Membership!

I love Threads magazine, and I would love to win a membership to Threads Insider to help me increase my knowledge. Access to videos would be a great help to me. Thanks for the opportunity.

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Industry Insider Techniques with Louise Cutting Volumes 1-4

As a self-taught sewer, I'm always looking for information on how to sew correctly and efficiently. I think these DVD's would be an excellent resource, and being able to actually see how things are done would be a huge plus!
Thank you for this opportunity.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Power Sewing Toolbox 1 and 2" by Sandra Betzina

As a self-taught sewer, I can use all the help and advice I can get. I had the opportunity to briefly chat with Ms. Betzina, and learned several things in that short time! I'd love to have her books to help me.

Re: An Exquisite Beaded Embroidery Sleeve

Wow! I am overwhelmed! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Do you know the history, such as when and where this was made, and for what occasion?

Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: "Quick Stuff to Sew"

I'm making aprons, silk scarves, and tote bags for women on my list.
