I enjoy learning from videos, internet, and books. One of my absolute favorite project sewing books is called Sew Pretty Homestyle by Tone Finnanger. To further my skills, I've taken three sewing classes: apparel technologies, alterations and textiles. I LOVED textiles! I'm here to connect with others who love to sew, Threads magazine and to learn even more.
Although I enjoy many hobbies, sewing is a field that I just cannot master over night and that is incredibly stimulating. I've decided that I want to sew forever. LOL.

WizardGir1 Bag
Here is an embroidered drawstring bag with eyelet lace trim at the bottom. I got the idea for the bag from Sew Pretty Homestyle. This is my first attempt at embroidery, so it looks a little clumsy...
Threads Techniques
Issue: July 2009 Number 143 This technique showed up in Threads at the perfect time! Currently, I am researching Native American art and design among the tribes. I just got back from a trip...

Re: Help us choose the next cover of Threads!
I don't purchase the magazine from the local shops, as I have a subscription, but I look for the Treads issue on the stand when I browse other craft magazines. I am thrilled each time I see the title "Threads" peaking out over other magazines.
posted: 11:20 am on November 15thI suppose when I look for Threads on the stands, I'm looking for an extra special issue (like a laminated spiral bound tip chart or something--I'm hopeful) that might fit nicely into my sewing library. Threads magazine staff has always done a fine job! concerning layout and grabbing attention of the browsing eye. I want "more" ... Threads is just that good.
Re: 1868 Day Dress
I am in awe. Your dress is just beautiful, fantastic! The fit is very nice and you look splendid. Very inspirational work!!

I remember the presser foot blog! I knew it wasn't a ruffler foot, but I had NOOOO clue as to what it would be used for, so I kept my mouth shut! :X ...I find the results fascinating. Thanks for the update.

I was browsing previous posts and your dress caught my eye. I think you did an incredible job on this dress. I adore the pocket look--especially the frayed bows. Kudos to you--a beautiful dress that any girl would want to have as an option in her closet!

I admit that last night was my first time watching Project Runway. I had planned to watch it two Thursdays in a row and missed them both. I didn't miss it last night. For the most part, I enjoyed the program.
posted: 7:22 pm on October 2ndI wish there was more on the designing aspect (to let the viewers see the inc line that the designers had to merge into), sewing footage and, of course, the finished garment. It was thrilling to see what the contestants came up with.
I thought the few clips and mini-discussion of the working relationship between the team members was nice, since working with other people is the real world, but maybe not so drawn out. :) I'd still like it to be more focused on the garments.
Re: Hand dyed silk charmuse coat
This garment is wonderful! The colors are a very nice contrast. It is a piece of art, without a doubt!

Awe, this is very pretty... Soft and sweet.

Oh my gosh! I LOVE your wristlets! I think the denim pocket is such a cute idea that I am going to make one now! You have inspired me. That is the perfect size to bring to the state fair. The pocket will be perfect for a cell phone. Nice!!

I was instantly drawn to the blue background, without a doubt. My eye automatically landed there. I wanted to pick it up and flip through it before even reading the titles!!! (It's December/January colors.)
posted: 9:26 am on September 23rdI turned away from the image of the model at the slant. I know a tilted subject is the fad for photography right now, but my mind turns away if it can't straighten it. The upright model is the better choice, in my opinion. It welcomes me to pick up the magazine and read about how to sew sweater knits!
Re: Giveaway: Simplicity Rotary Cutting Machine
Ooo... I'm already thinking about creating a fabric by weaving these neat strips together. Wouldn't a little handbag look adorable with a little woven heart on the front?!
