Hi, I've been sewing since I was a little girl. My mom sewed as did both my grandmothers and lucky me, I would get all the scrap fabrics. I would make doll clothes, especially Barbie clothes from patterns that my mom had. I loved designing the grown up clothes for Barbie. I learned to sew on my mom's machine when I was about 7. I was told I had allot of patience but I look back now and see I was always challenging myself with too difficult projects and would get frustrated but in the end I learned and progressed. When I had my daughter, I used to make her darling dresses and matching doll clothes. I wish there was a mileage counter on my machine's foot pedal because I know I have sewn miles and miles worth of fabrics! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: "Quick Stuff to Sew"
After I finish the fleece robe I making, I plan to use the scraps to make some slippers for my sister's kids. I could really use this mag to help me come up with more ideas for handmade gifts to give this year.

Hi! I'm teaching my young niece to sew this summer and I bet she'd love to choose something from this book as I'm sure she'd be inspired.

Hi, I like #2. I like to see how something looks on real people not on a dress form. Also the wording Threads in red looks best.

Hi, I would love to have this reference book. I've been wanting to embellish a jacket with embroidery and have needed a good book with stitches I could follow so it would turn out professional looking.

Re: How do you store your thread and other sewing notions?
Hi, I used to have my thread spools in a large, red, cheap plastic tool chest just thrown in there all messy and recently, I purchased 2 see-thru plastic containers made to hold spools of thread. I put all like colors together and wow, what a difference, at a glance I know what I have. I have always had my bobbins organized in a clear bobbin container and my other notions of like kind in clear plastic shoe boxes but now my thread is organized, too. Here in So. Calif. it is too dry, hot, sunny and dusty to have thread hanging on the wall exposed to all that so, I keep thread and other notions in the closet.

Then you can spend your money on fun stuff, like the perfect fabric for your next project!

Hi, The blue one wins with me. Perfect "cool blue ice" color for January I think. I don't like the tilted model. The green one would be good for spring.
