I don't have a photo to post. Just want to ask a question. I would like to know how to find out about needle felting. Is there a special attachment or foot for a sewing machine for this work? What are...

Re: A New Improved Seam Roll
About 45 years ago I rolled up a large magazine and rolled a dish towel around it, stitched it in place and have been using it for all these years, and wondering why I didn't replace it. Now I know why--I needed Kenneth King's wonderful idea! Can't wait to get to my lumber yard!

This summer I need to sew a nice lightweight jacket to wear to church or other dressier occaisions. I also want to finish up some quilting projects I am working on.

I also sewed a turquoise blue Easter bunny costume for a man, and had quite a time getting ears to stay up. But the funniest part of it was that at each home he stopped at to deliver Easter baskets, parents offered him a drink and by the end of his bunny run, we had a difficult time explaining the Easter Bunny's condition to the kids. Kind of a good idea gone awry! But we sure have a lot of laughs over it now.

My husband brought home a grass catcher/lawn sweeper with a ragged canvas catcher, and using some heavy canvas he had, I sewed a new grass catcher for the darned thing. Luckily my sewing machine handles such thick fabrics well. I've also sewn assorted tow straps, and other unusual items for him, some that I cannot call to mind just now.

In the past I have knitted, crocheted, sewn all kinds of clothing from lingerie, to wedding dresses, coats, as well as drapes and curtains and even tow straps and a new canvas cover for a grass catcher (husband comes up with the weird projects!).
posted: 8:57 pm on March 1stI did some crazy quilting with all the embroidery and embellishments, made beaded jewelry, and because I am a painter I have painted on fabric. I also did some silk painting, doll making, purses, batik, and just about anything I could think of to do. I love working with fabrics, embellishments, art and craft materials. Now I have just started doing some quilting, and find it to be relaxing fun.
Re: Protect Your Handbag Investment
Your instructions are great. But I think if you can use a serger you would have finished seams inside the bag cover, and it would make quick work of the silica bag, too

I have been putting a half of a dryer sheet inside stored purses to keep them smelling fresh. Do you think this might not be good for leather or fabrics?
posted: 8:43 pm on March 1stI make a similar drawstring bag for storing shoes or as travel covers. The first one wes only suitable for one pair of women's shoes. Now I make them larger so my husband can use them, too.
I made a fancier one with a pocket for a pair of socks out of a golfing print cotton, and padded it with iron-on craft fleece for protection, and lined it, for my sis-in-law to carry her golfing shoes.
Re: How to Cover Snaps for that Touch of Couture
I agree with rkr4cds1. Threads is where I look to find out the right way to do these little couture touches that contribute to a quality garment. I want to know the best way not the easiest way, unless that is also acceptable. Sometimes it is good to know more than one way to do a procedure, but I do want to know the more professional way along with the easy way.
