Re: The Merits of a Basic Fitting Pattern

I wish Threads would encourage THE BIG 4 to do just this:

'ideal world in which every pattern comes with an outline of the sloper it evolved from drawn right on the pattern, aligned at center back and shoulders as described in the "2-D dress-form" example above"

Thanks for an enlightening article; I learned a lot.

Re: Construct a Cardi-wrap in an Hour

Nice, but sure wish you'd show the back with both ends flipped over the shoulder. I'm lacking in spatial skills.

Re: Start to Finish, an Embroidered Fortuny Frock Coat

Magnificient. Fortuna anything has always been a favorite and it's inspiring to see what you did with it. Yum, if I could only buy some of those beauties.

Re: Start to Finish, an Embroidered Fortuny Frock Coat

Gorgeous. You make everything look easy to do for a home sewist.

Re: Bust Dart Pressing: Cup Size is a Factor in Which Technique You Choose

This is new news to me; never thought of it. Thank you. As always, you provide both education and inspiration.

Re: Video: An Easy, Flat Fly-Front Zipper

Great tutorial and I hope Threads continues to carry it. I refer to it every time I install a fly zipper.

Re: Construct a Flawless Collar Band

THANK YOU Louise; clear (as usual) instructions. I've always loved your patterns and instructions.

Re: How to Find Your Waist and Other Measurements

Enlightening, especially on where is the side seam. Once I learned about shoulder slopes, front and back, it improved greatly the fit of my garments. Thank you.

Re: Create a Garment Using Tyvek

Thank you, Linda. Great idea. QUESTION: what do you think of Tyvek as a pattern paper, instead of other pattern papers? Thanks

Re: How to Draft a Square Sleeve Cap

Thank you, Kenneth, for another excellent tutorial. I have ALL your written and video publications and have learned so much. Your use of geometry to create masterpieces inspires me. I'll definitely use this sleeve.

Re: How to Sew a Classic White Shirt

I subscribe to both Threads magazine and Insider. I'm not sure what this Insider article does for me.

Re: Make your Dress Form Work for Multiple Figures

Love this idea. Question: what to do when the dress form is way too short from shoulder to bust point? Padding doesn't quite do it.
