Silk Rose Prom Dress
I made this dress a few years ago for the lovely young sister of my daughter-in-law. I feel it is an appropriate entry into your red dress contest. The gown was designed to be strapless, but...

I was an owner of the Pfaff Creative Vision since it was first released. I loved the quality of stitch that it created, especially in the emroidery mode. I was not happy with the "bugs" that always needed working out, though. When the new Creative Sensation was announced, My name was on the 'list'. This machine is diffeerent from any machine I have ever owned ( and I would hate to list the all that have been around in the 40+ years that I have been sewindg). It is the most silent and (not to deify it)it has an aura of 'quality 'about it that I have never sensed in a machine before. Thank you ,Pfaff.

From my personal experience, the "fussier" a woman's undergarments, the more concerned she is about maintaining a handsome figure. How did I allow myself to get to cotton briefs and double chocolate biscotti! Those little silk chemise's (sic) used to feel so nice!!!

I was diagnosed with MS more than three decades ago. I made my clothing at the time and realized that my clothing needs would change as time passed. Well, that time has finally arrived and I so apprciated your post. Wouldn't it be great to see a article in Theads on this topic. Especially since so many of our sons are being sent home from battles with their bodies so different from fashion industry standards. Help us do it right, Threads!

We,(my husband, my four year old son and myself) had just moved into a ninety year old house with three floors of living space. The task of making curtains for thirty windows hung (sorry) over me while I made pants, stuffed animals, and, lots of curtains. I remember fabrics like others may remember funny jokes. That year it was a piece of wool like that used by the Hudson Bay Company for "point" blankets! OOOOOOOO!!! I found it in a little fabric shop in the village in Maine close to where my husband's family's summer home is located (yeah, on a pristine lake where loons nest-- excuse me, I digress). That fall I made myself a a wrap jacket with hand blanket stitching finishing all the edges. I thought of summer on that lake each cold, gray Indiana winter's day that I snuggled the collar up onto my neck.

I have been taking heirloom embroidery classes(done by machine) at our local sewing machine retail store. I am fascinated with the process and the results! The next class is on silk ribbon embroidery by machine. I think this book may be an interesting text to puruse in conjunction with this class.
