Re: Win a Copy of Smart Fitting with Kenneth D. King on DVD
Kenneth King is a wonderful teacher--love his articles for Threads and Insider. I'd be so happy to win his series on fitting. Next stop--a duct tape dress form. Anyone else in NYC interested in making one?

I haven't used sari fabric, but another traditional fabric that more people probably have sewn with are kimonos. Kimono fabric has been used in quilting, making garments and bags, wall hangings, etc. It's given the fabric another life and now used kimonos have value. I used to buy them at flea markets for a few dollars and felt bad that I couldn't save them all from being tossed out. It's reincarnation!

This is the way I love to sew, by winging it, improvising, and using my stash up!

I would love to try making a duct tape dress form for myself, but don't have any sewing friends who could help or trade the time.

Thank you,

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Industry Insider Techniques with Louise Cutting Volumes 1-4
I have been sewing clothes since my teens, but my skills could use this set of DVDs to become more efficient and professional-looking. I love THREADS!

Just look at the response to this contest! All the loyal readers---meaning anyone who has ever read Threads---would love this DVD. And I am no different---let it be me.

Re: Create a Custom Dress Form
Wow! I haven't had time to check the comments since I first posted on Oct. 18th, and am thrilled to see that others would like some help, also. I'll send a note to your temporary email, pointpatou. Seems like you're the point person, indeed.
posted: 5:24 pm on October 24thI'll also go to the "gatherings" section as another person suggested.
Re: Create a Custom Dress Form
I loved the article Threads printed some years ago about making your own form, via duct tape, paper tape and foam. Have always wanted to make a duct tape form, but don't have a partner to work with. Is anyone in NY, NY interested in trading off?---you help me, and I'll help you.
