Re: Enter the 2014 National Sewing Month Giveaway

I need a new subscription to Threads. I simply CANNOT do without it.
It looks like I will be making or rather modifying a few tops. I will be having surgery on my shoulder because of a Rotator Cuff tear. That means a tight sling for at least three weeks and a looser one for three more weeks. I am buying some extra large men's undershirts to rip out one seam so I can put it on on the good arm and throw it over the other shoulder. Still puzzling on what to make for a replacement bra.
I understand that I will be needing loose fitting tops for months. I'm already studying my patterns and fabrics. Wish me luck.
Also, as soon as the pain pills can be stopped, I should have lots of time in the easy chair to catch up on my backlog of Threads Magazine. :)

Re: Create a Custom Dress Form

My ASG group helped each other make forms. We used paper tape. Everybody was warned to go to the bathroom before the process began. We found that a small electric fan helped the one being taped, especially near the end. Some placed the fan between their legs and aimed up. :)
Since I had a commercial dress form that did not fit me well, I placed my tape form on the commercial form. It took some pushing and pulling and a little padding but it has held up perfectly for over 5 years. I love my little Pammie.

Re: Enter Threads Storage Solution Giveaway Sponsored by Go-Organize.com

I'm always looking for ways to re-organize, both the sewing room and me.

Re: Christine Haynes Pattern and Book Giveaway

The Emery Dress. I wore it in the 1950's and it looked great. Now I could wear it (without a defined waistline) and it would look better than anything in the stores.
No one wants to see my upper arms, not even me!

Re: Valentines Day Dress for Grandaughter

How darling! May I copy your ideas for my first granddaughter (not quite born yet)?
