My husband indulged me with an embroidery machine a few years back and just let me trade my four thread serger for a five thread serger/coverstitch machine. With my other regular machine, I am up for the challenges!

Nothing like a great book for winter inspiration!

I pretty much agree with the general consensus that has been posted so far. However, let me add this: Let's keep Project Runway about the SKILLS and the TALENT. This was the first runway season I about quit watching. Why? DRAMA -- unnecessary drama that is. Did we really need to see Ivy taken to the hospital for dehydration/fatigue? Did we really need to see everyone hounding on Michael all season? Let's focus on the skills, fashion and the process. If I wanted to see a bunch of bickering adults, I would watch Survivor. (Do they still do Survivor?) If the next Project Runway is more about personal drama than fashion, I may just have to leave the TV in the sewing room off that evening!

I have a wonderful 5 thread serger that I'm still trying to master! Any pointers and ideas to help me facilitate my serger more would be great. I recently made my 2 year daughter a new shirt out of cotton pique and used the serger. It went together nicely, but I would love to learn some of the decorative techniques.

Personally, I liked Carol Hannah's collection, even though it didn't seem to be quite so blatantly consistent and unified as Irina's. Her color palette was very nice too. Althea's style is not really my style and I agree that her oversized sweaters were way too oversized. (They reminded me of my 3 year old playing dress up!) Irina did have some nice detail to some of her pieces, but I agree it was way too black... too dark! The hats helped pull it all together, but made me think of punk rockers with mohawks. I will be again watching next season.

Very neat trick. Might be nice between a yoke and skirt for my toddler with the beads, or maybe buttons, for an accent as she mentioned.

I now have a subscription. However, I did luck about a year ago and purchased a huge collection of Threads magazines at a yard sale for almost nothing! Love them!

At the beginning I was cheering Christopher on simply because he's the guy with "no formal training". But last night, I thought he should have been a "aufed" before Shirin. It's not that Shirin's design was good, but Christopher simply did a poor remake of what has been done before. And although they are only judging one performance, Christopher's presentations the previous two challenges was less than great.

I currently think the boys better be watching the girls as I think we may have all girls in the final three.
