Re: Project Runway Season 13: Episode 12, "Fashion Week: Who's In and Who's Out"

Totally agree with you, Dana - I thought that Emily's outfit was much more professional and polished.
Don't know what judges find in Char's looks.
Emily should stay, in my opinion. In any case, she left gracefully.
Sean's white set....Hm...I am from Europe and have seen this look sooo many times! It is not new look to me. It is not original. And honestly, it is quite boring.
Amanda's dress - Japanese borderline hippie with no upper body undergarment!

Re: Attend The Sewing Party

Wow! I would love to attend The Sewing Party while staying at home! What a great surprise and cool idea. Keep my fingers crossed. Thank you

Re: Enter the 2014 National Sewing Month Giveaway

There is always something to saw or mend in my house. The biggest sewing project for me is my child's uniform. She has a unique figure and uniform should be custom made. So, here I come!
I love reading Threads. It gives me ideas, news, promotions, tools and guidelines.
Thank you very much for your hard work!

Re: Simplicity Pattern 1664 Giveaway!

Would love to win! I like to use linen blend or poplin for this collection

Re: Project Runway Season 13, Episode 1: "The Judges Decide"

When my husband and I saw Sandhya Garg's dress walking down the runway we both said - "She is out!" To our surprise and disappointment her design won. Do judges see something we don't?

Re: Cheryl Kuczek Pattern Giveaway

Oh, yes! I would love to win and try these wonderful patters out! Thank you for the chance!

Re: Second Annual National Serger Month Celebration and Giveaway

I love my serger! Even though it is not as fancy I can make lots with it!I used it mainly for regular edge finishing and sometimes flat fell seams.
I made a few zip pouch bags and a vest, T's and leggins for my child using it.
I need to master clean finish and beginning of the stitch, corners and such would be great to master too.
Thank you for the chance.

Re: Book Giveaway: "The Complete Photo Guide to Clothing Construction"

Beautiful and so needed book!
With Christine's book I would like to get brave and make a blouse and a baser for myself. So far I sew clothes for my 6 years old daughter.
Thank you for the chance!

Re: Simplicity Patterns: Early Spring 2014 Review & Givewaway!

1467 - hands down! It looks good for a day in the office and early dinner with friends. Love it. Thank you

Re: Under the Gunn, Episode 8: "It's an Unconventional Beach Party"

Agree with Soli - I am not a big fan of unconventional challenges either. And IMHO Oskar's look was the best - clean and beautiful.
Same here on J.Rade!

Re: Color of the Year 2014: Radiant Orchid

Even though it looks good on Runway, this color makes me look sick. Just not the best for me, I guess. Good thing the Pantone has more choices than just this one.

Re: Win a Copy of Serger Techniques on DVD!

Why would I like to win this? I have a serger, but use it mostly for neaten up edges and sewing knits.
I am sure there is much more to it than just simple stitch. Right?

Re: Threads Selects Giveaway: "Easy-to-Sew Handbags"

I do like Amy Amy Butler design. I need to get brave enough to make her Weekender!
Thank you

Re: Book Giveaway: Dressmaking: 200 Q&A

I won? I won! Yay! Thank you, Threads!

Re: Project Runway Season 12, Episode 4: "Tie the Knot"

gays, lesbians.... we are we all going with this....

Re: Book Giveaway: Dressmaking: 200 Q&A

sometimes when I read the written instruction they make no sense to me. The trick - read them aloud. Slowly. Pretending you are trying to explain them to somebody else. Works for me. Thank you for the chance!

Re: Magazine Giveaway: Threads Issue 168

the dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in Somebody likes it Hot

Re: Book Giveaway: "Creating a Successful Fashion Collection"

I would love to create a flattering, wearable collection for middle-age ladies. Thank you for the chance!

Re: Book and DVD Giveaway: Claire B. Shaeffer's "Couture Sewing: Tailoring Techniques"

Oh, what a wonderful giveaway!
I am returning sewist and struggle a bit with tailoring jackets and coats, also with lining....

Re: Magazine Giveaway: Sew Home

I would do a lot for my home! But... I am not sure I can do it all. Maybe this book could teach me?!

Re: Magazine Giveaway: "Threads" Issue #165 (February/March 2013)

I must agree - I love doing hem-stitching by hand. Also - some applique and beading. And of course, sewing on the Hand-Made tags

Re: Project Runway All Stars, Episode 7: "An Unconventional Nightmare Before Christmas"

I liked both designs - Uli's and Ryan's. His was a little better done, in my opinion. But we don't really see the design the way we'd like. And I agree, the materials they used....
So, how could we judge?!
Ivy should be gone a few weeks ago!
I don't know what happened to Althea. She was very good with her designs in her past season. Tries to hard????

Re: Project Runway Episode 13: "Finale, Part 1"

I did like Dmitriy's design. Was not excited to see Christopher's nor Melissa's. They are all very nice people, I agree.
I like seeing Tim in casual environment. Would really love to know the brand of his glasses. They are fabulous!

Re: Project Runway Episode 7: "Oh My Lord and Taylor"

I agree, Dmirty should have the winning title. The dress was so polished and classy.
The winning Pale Vampire Dress didn't speak to me.

Re: Project Runway Episode 9: "It's All About Me"

Happy for Dmitriy!

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "The Art of Fashion Draping" by Connie Amaden-Crawford

I always wanted to be able to drape fine silk, which is hard to work with! Thank you for the opportunity.

Re: Project Runway Season 10: "Candy Couture"

We also thought that Dmitriy will be in the better position.
But still, remember previous seasons - Anya couldn't sew, Michael could only drape....but they were soooo praised! Glad Mondo finally made it.

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: A Field Guide to Fabric Design

Sometimes I have a specific project with a pattern/ fabric design in mind. But it is not easy to find it in the store. I think I would make lots of designs for my child clothes, maybe for myself too. And accessories!

Re: Project Runway All Stars: "Finale Part 2"

Hurray! Mondo won! I personally love the round pockets dress. Would love to make one for myself.

Re: Choose the Correct Pattern Size

I was horrified to learn that according to the chart I am size 18! Then I measured myself and the paper pattern - it was really huge for me.
There are some patterns that are true-to-the-size and some that you need to take upper bust measurements and adjust the bust line later.
Would anybody know the list of those pattern-makers?

Re: Project Runway All Stars: "Good Taste Tastes Good"

Hate seeing Michael win again!
Mondo, please, step up!
Kara should have been sent home! Period!
April is not quite mentally there, she is very young and insecure.

Re: Project Runway All Stars: "Patternmaking for Piggy"

Loved Rami design, not Michael's (really?!), will miss Jordana.... The challenge was quite silly, though.
And why the call it All Star? I expected to see more of the best designers from last seasons.

Re: Project Runway 9: "Finale - Part 2"

My husband and I joined the Runway show somewhere in the middle. We were impressed with the Georgian girl - Irina. She was a true talented designer and she stayed true to herself throughout the season.
And every time there is something disappointing! Gretchen??? Are you kidding me?! And Mondo.... I think Viktor just repeated his mistakes this season.
I don't know what judges saw in Anya's work - it is just a spa collection. That's it. Would she be able to make something else? Who knows. Maybe she will use the money she won to go to school, to Tim's class...
Very sad.
I am not sure I want to watch any more of the shows.

Re: Project Runway 9: "Finale - Part 1"

Yes, Viktor should have the Victory! And I hope he will. He is talented and skillful.
But LT wants to have a popularity. So, we have to watch many different people on the show.

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Threads Magazine Archive, 1985-2011

Hello, Thread!
I am a returning sew-er. Every time I go to library or at the store, I always check the magazines. Really love it. The only thing... I am a little timid to starts sewing again - in 20 years there are so much new supply/fabric/you-name-it on the market and in technology.
I slowly started building up my sewing room. Good thing - I have a toddler and can practice sewing for her first.
Your giveaway might give me so much needed confidence and knowledge.
Thank you.
