Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Sweet Stitches from the Heart"

How I would love a book on embroidery!! I did a little of it many many years ago, but would love this book to give me the encouragement to do embroidery on things I make now. That would be so exciting for me!

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Threads Magazine Archive, 1985-2011

How I would love to have this DVD. How much easier it would be to search for that elusive item I remember reading, and even ones I don't remember reading! It certainly would save an awful lot of time in today's time-crunched society. How desirable it would be to own this.

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Underwear Fashion in Detail"

When I was young bras made one look like she had two cones on her chest. And, oh, those girdles we wore to hold up our stockings and firm up our rear ends! I'm so glad fashion has relaxed over the years to today's more comfortable way of dressing.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Girl's World" by Jennifer Paganelli

I not only have one granddaughter, I have five! They are all beautiful girls with so much love to give. They range in age from 2 years to 9 years old. If grandma makes something, it's very special. Our 2-year-old just loves to pull her "nanna skirt" on and off as she pleases!! This book would be just wonderful with 5 girls to sew for.

Re: 3 Neat Edge Finishes for the Sleeveless Styles of Summer

I love all three of these ideas, but have two questions. I, too, am wondering about the baby hem: If the first turn of the fabric is on the seam line, won't the second turn make the armhole larger than originally intended? And, what kind of fabric was used in the reinforsed buttonhole demo? At first I thought it was a searsucker, but when looking at the close-ups more carefully I don't think it is. Where was it purchased?

Re: Book Giveaway: Easy Guide to Sewing

It's been quite a while since I've done any sewing for myself, so this book sounds like it would be just what I need to rebuild my confidence, especially when it comes to making things fit properly and sewing with knit fabrics, which I love to wear. I would love to have this book to get me back to sewing for myself.
