Profile for lbmdesigns - Threads

Lyn Bristol, Castries, LC

I come from a family of seamstresses, but I was a late bloomer!! I drifted to textile art, using primarily silk paints on silks, cotton voiles and silk rayon (so far).

Where I am from, good quality fabrics are hard to come by, so I have to rely on purchasing fabrics from the USA, Canada or Europe.

Currently, I belong to a Textile Cooperative, and this is a good avenue to get the fabrics I would like to work with. We are fairly new, so the going is a bit slow - I have patience!!

My head is always swimming with designs, even in my sleep. Sometimes I try to duplicate some of the painted designs I have done, and I still drift away from it!! I sew and paint pareos (wraps), cut them in two or three lengths to create mini pareos, scarves, etc., I also sew and paint mini caftans (square and round) to be used as beach cover-ups, skirts (long and short), and shorts.

ummm ... this "drivel" has absolutely nothing to do with my artistic talent. How can it be removed?

Re: Project Runway Episode 9: "It's All About Me"

I think we will be hearing a lot from and about Gunner (not Ven - too much in a box!!!). Glad for Dmitry, he has always been consistent.

Re: Project Runway Episode 7: "Oh My Lord and Taylor"

I think we all love Gunner!!
