I have been a professional seamstress since 1973. My specialty is Alterations. I just opened a new shop in Laramie, Wyoming after I realized that there is a desperate need for people who do alterations and who sew professionally. I had a shop in Lincoln, Nebraska and had 5 employees. We did the work for 20 stores, The University of Nebraska, and numerous private clients, including the governors of the state. In Laramie I have been open since July 22, 2009 and the response has been overwhelming. The name of my shop is Aloma's Alterations and I do professional Alterations and Tailoring. We are a dying Breed. There used to be an alterations lady or tailor in almost every store but they are fading away and the younger generation doesn't seem intrested in learning this trade. I am the mother of 4 children and I just remarried a Wyoming Cowboy after 18 years of being single. I am also a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in a hospital part time until 2 months ago.

Re: Mary McFadden Exhibit in D.C.
The creations of Mary McFadden are truly awe inspiring! As a professional Alterations Lady, I am constantly encouraged by the designers and by the gowns and creations that I get in to work with. Each time, I learn something new about construction and design, (and I have a few tricks up my sleeve of my own). McFaddens use of fabric texture and pattern makes her truly unique...Aloma Cronberg........Aloma's Alterations, Laramie, Wyoming.
