Re: Understanding Thread Tension

If both tensions are to loose and the stitch looks perfect how is the seam compromised?

Re: Giveaway: Teach Yourself to Sew Magazine and DVD bundle

I trade hours worked and teach my interns to sew and pattern make. Being an independant fashion enterpenure is not an easy task, there is only so much a full time working mom can do. My interns are mostly fashion design students who feel there degree is lacking some important skills if they don't want to enter the corporate world. I get help with marketing, photshots, fashion show, and SWAG; they get skills that will inhance their career.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Horrockses Fashions: Off-the-Peg Style in the '40s and '50s"

It's amazing how history shapes fashion and I'd love learning more about Horrockses Fashions from this book.

Re: Project Runway - Week 6: Mini Models Take the Runway

Like last season, none of these designers have impressed me, but the time constraints this time around have made it difficult to really push the envelope. I'm looking forward to the next challenge, incorporating metal, and hope this season gets more interesting.

Re: Top Ten Weirdest Dresses

A on-line friend from, PrutsPrinses, saw my post and let me know his name is Hussein Chalayan. you can see his coffee table dress here from his collection in 2000.

Re: Top Ten Weirdest Dresses

I can remember the designers name, there's a coffee table book on his work. I the late 90's he made a coffee table dress similar to the last one in the article, I'm wondering if he's her inspiration? He was also know for his chair slipcovers that turned into dresses. I personally have made a jacket out of bottle caps and want to make a dress eventually.
