Re: Hand Understitching

Hmm...I don't know whether this is a new idea or not...
I rarely use sewing machine to do this kind of finishing. I always use hand understitching, for bags, clothes, etc...It's one of 'basic' technique I learn in every sewing course I attended...Unless...it's another hand understitching technique...

Re: Carla's Opera Coat

uummm...i think this design is making a body bigger and I don't know if that's the intention...I don't mind it's big but it's shapeless.
The idea of pleats is good but i don't know why is on the back...I mean, it's like 'meaningless'...
Too bad...the sleeves bias technique thing isn't too clear for me...
I guess this article is also not too detail only 'telling' a 'story' but not describe it technically (may be except the closure)...

Re: Summer Sewing Challenge: 1 Week Left to Win!

wah! i sew a jacket with this kind of motif (blue, too) long time ago...when i was taking an intermediate course...

Re: What's Your Favorite Non-standard Sewing Machine Foot?

oh, i have the one that in the picture...
i don't know whether it's still available anymore in my local right now...i got it from 75 mother's sewing machine...
i see that this old sewing machine has a lot of 'foot'...

oh, i usually use the one in the picture...moveable foot to sew zipper...well, i just follow the instruction in the machine book, though...

Re: Vintage Sewing Books Make Great Modern Teachers

that ready-set-sew should be republished.

Re: Vintage Sewing Books Make Great Modern Teachers

The front book, ready-set-sew, that's the BEST book ever!
I have a lot of reference but I found this book, although it's not as big as others but the content...the content...it's packed!
It put basic techniques, yet GREAT, up-front. It's doesn't said itself as a "handbook" but it's definitely a handbook. Whenever I want to search for some technical information, this book is the first destination

Re: Find Your Best Silhouette

full explanation is in the magazine, though...
Glad I still got this magazine...may be it's the last one of my first subscription...
I'm reconsidering to renew...
