Mending and repairing is so important, especially if you have an article you really like. Using small stitches with matching thread is what I do. I need new ideas an techniques of repairing an article that has lots of wear left in it.

What a wonderful gift to win. DVDs are such a great way to learn new ideas. I'm 84 yrs old and sew for my daughter, grand daughter, great grand daughter an myself. I read Threads magazine plus some old old sewing books and would love some new ideas and ways of sewing. I learned to sew in 4H in a one room grade school. Sewed for the children when they were young.
About 20 years ago took up sewing for my daughter, making skirts & blouses. The DVD give away Industry Insider Techniques with Louise Cutting Volumes 1-4 would be used by three of us. thank you.

What a wonderful idea for a book and I would love to win it. I'd make walker bags for my friends in nursing homes and also lap robes to keep their legs warm. I am making an I spy quilt for my great grand daughter. I make jackets, skirts and blouses for my daughter and my self and that gives me lots of
scraps. I could always use more ideas for scraps. Threads is a magazine that I keep near my sewing machine for references.
I just finished a generation wall hanging for my grand daughter.

Thank you for this opportunity to win your contest. One of the ideas I use is: When sewing, you want to keep the project under the presser foot in place. Most sewers use their fingers to control the project. If you use the point of a seam ripper, it will control the project & it keeps your fingers safe from the needle area.
Another idea is to keep your projects ready to pick up to work on or take with you is: purchase several baskets with handles & and place each project in a basket. You want to include necessary needles, shears, small ruler, & what ever you will be using for this project. I purchased baskets from garage sales for 50 cents & lined & padded them.
