My favourite out-of-print book is 'Quilt Restoration - A Practical Guide' 1994 by Camille Dalphond Cognac. I also recommend the following books that I have collected at yard sales etc:
Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing 1976
Singer Sewing Book 1949
and The Vogue/Butterick Step by Step Guide to Sewing Techniques 1989
