I am a 66 year old retired teacher (elementary school) who loves sewing. I designed and made my daughter's wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, curtains, drapes and so much more. It has been a very enjoyable craft that I learned from my mother. My youngest daughter also became a teacher - teaching "Life Skills" at the middle school until the program was cut. Students loved sewing and it was a tragedy when the classes were eliminated. I have taught many people to sew and am always buying sewing machines at garage sales to outfit any interested young person. I am so happy to see a renewed interest in sewing but am dismayed that the schools no longer offer sewing as a class option.
