I have a fashion design degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and started sewing at age 10. My favorite machines are my Berninas, though I learned on a Singer. Babylock is also one of my machines but I leave it in Chicago so that I can sew when I visit my daughter. I design special occasion for clients and sew everything else for family from boat covers,drapes,never ending alterations,Halloween etc. I belong to our local IATSE union and do costume work for the movies and commercials. I am addicted to sewing and fabric and have a posture problem that reflects 50 years over my machines. Though my body and eyes are screaming "enough already" I will consider myself dead when I can not spend a day creating.
