Re: Simplicity Pattern 1466 Giveaway!

Love the many version choices that this pattern provides. Princess seam dresses were a favorite of mine many years ago.

Re: Project Runway Season 12: Episode 1 "Sky's the Limit"

I love the changes to this season. The construction should be a part of the judging. In past seasons I have seen some pretty shabby construction. I also think that the judges not knowing who made what is a good idea. I love this show so much I DVR it and watch is sometimes more than once.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations"

Listening to designers share their inspiration for design would be wonderful but I would alos love to read about them in this book.

Re: Mood Fabrics Debuts the Mood Sewing Network

I will be in NYC in 2 weeks and can't wait to explore Mood as I am a fan of Project Runway. Most of the blogs I follow are quilting & sewing related but I now have some more to explore. I find blogs are a great learning experience! We older sewers are beginning to find how much technology can expand our world.

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "The Art of Fashion Draping" by Connie Amaden-Crawford

I would love to learn to drape a wonderful dress for wearing on the first day of school. Years ago I studied flat pattern making but have alwaysd been intrigued with draping.

This is a great resource for grandmas. It is so much fun to sew for little girls!

Re: Book Giveaway: "1,000 Clever Sewing Shortcuts & Tips"

Always read ALL the directions before beginning! I think I was told this back in 1957 by my first sewing teacher. It sure keeps you from starting things you know you can't do or don't understand.

Re: Is sewing taught in your local school system?

I have been a Home Economics/Family and Consumer Science teacher for 43 years and am depressed when I see so many schools not recognizing the value of these classes. We teach life skills along side the academic skills of math and science, communication skills like reading and interperting directions. I am so glad to see more school systems beginning to recognize the personal need to care for ones self and often find enjoyment in a hobby or use the skills for employment. Several of my former students have become chefs, interior decorators, preschool teachers and some are now teaching in my field. I have been richly rewarded as a teacher, no not with money but by seeing my students become sucessful in life. Please help nuture the crusade to include these classes in Middle School & High School.

Re: Book Giveaway: "Horrockses Fashions: Off-the-Peg Style in the '40s and '50s"

What a GREAT RESOURCE FOR TEACHING TODAY'S YOUTH ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK IS THE WAY WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD CLOTHING AVAILABLE TO US.
