Hi!, I am a 56 year old housewife, mother and grandmother "Mimi". I have been sewing for 45 years, since I learned in Home Ec class in the 7th grade. (My daughter,Jessica learned to sew in the same classroom 10 years ago. I find that quite fitting!) I love to sew challenging projects where I can take my time and go slow. Since this isn't usually the case I just sew when I can and when I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Sewing takes me to another world where I can do simple projects, doll clothes and "Puni" clothes (Puni is my grandson, Eric's teeny bear he got in Hawaii) Boys have needs too, thank goodness! or construct an advanced piece of clothing or a costume. My desire is only that each item upon completion be as good as it was fulfilling to sew.

I have my own sewing room which doubles as a laundry room/catch all. I'm trying to remove the catch all part, but until the garage gets drywalled and organized I just nudge the tools aside and do the best I can. Perhaps you can understand the "taking me to another world" part. The garage is going to be done sometime soon after the holidays and I really, really cannot wait for that day.

The only other things that take me to another world are gardening - the digging, planting heavy duty stuff and knitting. Reading is pretty high up there
but it's supposed to take one to other worlds. The best things make another world for me or someone I love or care about.

I love THREADS magazine. It is the only magazine I read from cover to cover, including all the advertisements the day it arrives in the mail. SWEET!

Re: Perfect Pleated Edging

Most welcome application. I have been looking for a method to pleat tulle to embellish a petticoat I wish to make to complete a purchased party dress.
Thank you, thank you, Kenneth!
