I have a heritage of sewing lovers. My mom would spend many hours sewing us clothes, not only because she had to, but because she loved it. She would sit & sew for us when we needed it, she put that above keeping the house spotless, & so I did the same for my children. My mom also sewed special things for her grandchildren, saying they are only children for a short while. My children still think of the times she or I sat & sewed for them & the things we made. Wonderful memories!
I started to sew at 9yrs when my dad bought a treadle machine at an auction in 1967. I got my first embroidery machine in 1992. My husband bought it for me at Christmas & used the insurance money we got when our son died. He said Mark loved the things I sewed & this was the best way to spend the money. I have gotten newer machines, but it is still in the family.
I am the coordinato of Janome Club at my dealers & also teach other sewing classes. I have Janome 11000SE, MB4, 10001, 634D serger, CoverPro 1000, Felting machine & also an Elna air electronic (at my daughters). I like all types of sewing & learning new techniques. I also like working & learning the software part of embroidery.

Re: What's Your Favorite Non-standard Sewing Machine Foot?
I like the Janome Rotary Even foot. It is like a little tank that rolls along & evenly feeds all tyoes of fabrics. It also has extra attachments for large rolled hems, hemming guides, 1 that can be used like a stitch in the ditch foot. It is a lot nicer than the walking foot as it is quiet, not as bulky & snaps on like the other feet.
