Re: Magazine Giveaway: Sew Home
In redecorating I would make some colorful curtains and pillows to start and change the look of my living room. Then I would move on to the more challenging slip covers for my couch and chair so they match.

Making these will be good so I can pick just the right fabric.
Thanks
Re: Mega Quilt Giveaway
My best quilting experience has to be when I made my very first full sized quilt. The whole process seemed a bit daunting and I was on my own figuring it all out by myself.
posted: 12:12 am on January 23rdI knew the pattern I wanted so that was easy..but I was just winging it so there was no official "pattern directions".
Material selection alone can be confusing with all of the great patterns and designs available, but I chose six fabrics fairly quickly and the saleslady at the store helped me with tips to figure out yardage. I figured it out wrong and ended up with enough fabric for my quilt and another small quilt or throw!
It was a great experience and I was so happy with my results.
Re: Book Giveaway: "Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations"
I especially like European design and the Italians are no exception. Designers back in the day had visions and solid workmanship and not the ultimate drama of the fashion world today.

Re: Magazine Giveaway: "Threads" Issue #165 (February/March 2013)
I like to do all styles of stitching on my artwork--similar to the crazy quilt look. Having trouble with tendonitis it is easier to do obvious disorganized stitches as I can only do it for a little while and I was never a good pretty stitcher.

I have never sewed with flax--just eaten it!
posted: 12:13 am on July 11thEducating myself about this would be good as I have always thought it to be a more coarse fabric like burlap. I thought that about hemp and have since seen some of the most beautiful soft fabric with a beautiful natural look. Natural looking fabrics have always appealed to me and it sounds like I should look into flax.
Thanks
Re: Book Giveaway: "THE VICTORIAN TAILOR" by Jason Maclochlainn
This would be such a fabulous book to have because learning the right way to tailor really makes a difference with the lay of the fabric. I would love to learn more of this as it is a great skill to have.

Re: MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY: Spring 2011 SewStylish
I plan on sewing a couple of dresses for the hot weather as I have the fabric already picked out, but the fitting is a bit dodgy,so any tips are definitely welcome.

Re: Book Giveaway: "1,000 Clever Sewing Shortcuts & Tips"
I have learned over the years to not be in a hurry or I will make mistakes and get frustrated and waste materials. Trying to be the neatest that you can be is difference between success and disappointed.
