Re: Re-use Wool Coat

This brought back so many happy memories. When I was young, my family didn't have much money. My mother would buy a woman's wool coat at the thrift store and remake it for me. My two favorites were the black dress coat to which she added red corduroy cuffs, welting, and lining, and another black coat to which she added yellow and black checked wool cuffs, collar and lining. I felt so pretty and special to have these handmade gems.

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Industry Insider Techniques with Louise Cutting Volumes 1-4

I learned to sew at my mother's feet, on an old Singer foot-powered treadle machine, many, many years ago. She was an excellent seamstress and tailor. I have not updated my techniques since then, for the most part, and would love to have the chance to do so with this series of DVDs. There is such a difference between "home-made" and "custom-made" and these DVDs will help me bridge the difference.
