A sillk charmeuse party dress for a client who requested a modern garment which would stand out at dance parties where many couples wear elaborate period dress. The skirt is floor length and extra full, with a very large godet added center back to an already circular skirt. The bodice is constructed from handmade strips of twelve colors of charmeuse, woven potholder style; it is punctuated with a double binding at neck and sleeve and a dark red cummerbund at the high waist.
