I have always had a love of Folkwear designs and native costumes. This dress design is modeled after Ukrainian style embroidery done on their lovely folkwear costumes. I also couched hand dyed rayon seed in turquoise to show off side seams. The pattern uses gussets to give more movement under sleeve. There are two pockets on each side which I outlined in red rayon seed along seam lines. All seams were finished off as flat felled seams. The hem is finished off in hand crocheted edging. Sleeve cuff and neck are done in same cross stitch style to give unity to the piece. The edging of collar and cuffs are done in button hole stitch to finish edge off. I have made this for my Grand niece Michaela.

I love Folkwear's use of gussets on simple patterns - this is a lovely design for a dress. Are you selling the pattern?
