Quilt Your Stash

My M2 Jacket

My version of the M2 jacket front

My version of this jacket began with the M2Again jacket pattern by Elaine Waldschmitt, which seemed the perfect scrappy stash jacket. I used many many different fabrics both batik and quilting cotton collections. I did apply a little control to how the various scraps played out in my jacket to better see the quilting blocks used.

The pattern has you make five different mini quilts complete with quilting and then cut these for the 2 fronts, back and 2 sleeves. I made a few construction changes to the pattern to better suit me. I opted out of the elastic and draw string in the hem and the elastic in the sleeves. I completely finished the inside of my jacket so it would hold up better by binding all the seams, pocket edges and adding a facing for the front edge so the zipper tape would be covered.

This pattern fits lots of people and is a great start off place for a really scrappy jacket.
