Quilt Your Stash

Crazy Quilt Purse

Front

I made this purse in college as a clothing design student- it was my final project in a textile design course. The shape of the purse was inspired by the popular Fendi baguette bags. I crazy quilted, embroidered, and beaded velvet, satins, and metallic fabrics to create a rich, luxurious look.  I designed, patterned, and created the purse all in one week, which involved a lot time-consuming work (giving the term crazy quilting new meaning!). Despite the short timeframe for production, I really loved making this bag and was happy with the results…it’s like a little piece of art you can tuck under your arm!
