‘High Profile’ Jabot Blouse
I converted an original 1934 pattern for a seperate jabot yoke and overdress into this ‘High Profile’ jabot blouse.
The original 1934 McCall pattern design featured an esemble with separate 'jabot yoke' under an overdress with cufffed long or short sleeve options and a jacket.
I drafted the 'jabot yoke' and 'waist front' pieces together from the original pattern. Since I omitted the attached skirt of the overdress, I drafted enough length and ease to the 'waist' pieces so it could be worn as a blouse.
This image highlights the integrated jabot collar I created.
I chose the long sleeves with French cuffs.
High Profile Jabot
I cut this blouse in white silk shantung doupioni, fully lined it and made a self-facing for the jabot collar.
The complete profile.
